Theodore Mead Kimble, also known as Ted Kimble, was interviewed at the Major Crimes Division Office of the Guilford County Sheriff's Department. This interview was conducted by, Guilford County Sheriff's Detective D. L. DeBerry in the presence of SA Jerry D. Webster. The interview took place on April 1, 1997, and began at 8:32 a.m.


Kimble had been arrested in the vicinity of his residence by Guilford County sheriff's deputies earlier on the morning of April 1, 1997. Immediately following his apprehension, he was transported to the Guilford County Sheriff's Department and brought to the Major Crimes Unit Office where this interview took place.


Prior to the commencement of this interview, an arrest warrant charging Kimble with first degree murder was served by Detective DeBerry. Immediately following the service of the warrant Kimble was advised of his Constitutional Rights against self-incrimination by Detective DeBerry. Detective DeBerry read to suspect Kimble from the Rights Form and had suspect Kimble to acknowledge his understanding of each of the rights as they were read to him by placing his initials on the form.


After reading to suspect Kimble the paragraph entitled "Waiver of Rights," Kimble stated that he would not be willing to answer any questions until he had consulted with an attorney.


The interview was terminated immediately. The time of the termination of the interview was 8:36 a.m.
 

There are two attachments; the first being a copy of the Warrant for Arrest served upon suspect Kimble and the second being a copy of the Rights Form executed by Detective DeBerry and signed by suspect Kimble.
